GTA 6 Waypoint exists to give players accurate, useful information about Grand Theft Auto VI. This page explains how we research, write, check and update everything we publish.
1. Where our information comes from
We rely first on primary sources:
- Official announcements on the Rockstar Games Newswire and the official GTA VI website
- Official trailers, videos and screenshots released by Rockstar Games
- Official statements from Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company
- From launch on 19 November 2026, the game itself, played by us
We also use reporting from established gaming and news outlets, and we always link to them. We use other websites to spot what readers are asking about, never as text to copy or reword.
2. How we label information
Every important claim on GTA 6 Waypoint carries one of three labels:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Confirmed | Rockstar Games or Take-Two has officially said or shown it |
| Reported | A reputable outlet has reported it, but it isn’t officially confirmed |
| Rumour | Unverified claims we mention only to explain or fact-check them |
If we can’t find a reliable source for something, we leave it out or say plainly that it isn’t known yet.
3. Our policy on leaks
We never publish, embed or link to leaked footage, screenshots or story details. Leaked material is unfinished, can be misleading, often contains spoilers and belongs to its owners. When leaks are in the news, we report that they happened and how companies responded, without showing them.
4. How we write
- We put the answer first, then the detail.
- We write in plain language for players, not search engines.
- We give our own view where it helps, and we make clear when something is opinion.
- Each post has a named author and shows when it was published and last updated.
5. How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research, outlines, grammar and editing, much as other writers use spelling and grammar tools. Every post is written, fact-checked and approved by a person before it’s published. We don’t publish AI-generated text without human review, we don’t use AI to invent facts, and we never present AI-generated images as real GTA 6 screenshots.
6. Images
We use official media released by Rockstar Games, credited “Image: Rockstar Games”, along with our own graphics and, from launch, our own in-game screenshots.
7. Updates and corrections
GTA 6 information changes often, so we update posts when new official details arrive and change the “Last updated” date only when the content has actually changed. If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and, for significant errors, add a note at the end of the post explaining what was corrected. To report an error, email contact@gta6waypoint.com.
8. Independence
GTA 6 Waypoint is an independent, unofficial fan site. We are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. We may earn money from advertising and affiliate links, but advertisers and partners never decide what we write. Affiliate links are always disclosed.
