GTA 6 real cars is one of the most searched vehicle questions right now, so here is the short answer: GTA 6 does not use real car brands. Every vehicle Rockstar has named so far uses GTA’s own makers, like the Grotti Cheetah, Vapid Ganado and Dinka Enduro. (Confirmed) But a lot of the cars in the trailers are clearly based on real ones, and car sites have been matching them since Trailer 1.
I went through what Jalopnik, The Drive and a few fan databases have spotted across Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the 26-minute Extended Look, and put it all in one place. Every real-car match below is someone’s eye, not Rockstar’s word, so each one is (Not confirmed). The cars themselves are (Shown) in Rockstar’s own footage.
Table of Contents
Does GTA 6 have real cars?
No real names, no real logos. GTA has always used made-up brands that copy real carmakers, and GTA 6 keeps that. The official names Rockstar has used for GTA 6 so far, in the edition and pre-order details, are all GTA brands: Grotti, Vapid, Dinka, Shitzu and Crest. (Confirmed) You can see the full official list in our GTA 6 cars list.
What you do get is cars that look almost exactly like real ones, with the badge changed. That is why “what real cars are in GTA 6” is such a big search, and it is the fun part of every new trailer.
GTA 6 car brands and the real makers they copy
These GTA brands have all shown up in GTA 6 footage or official names. The real-maker column is the pattern from GTA 5 and earlier games, so treat it as a guide, not a Rockstar statement.

Real cars spotted in the GTA 6 Extended Look
The 26-minute Extended Look on 27 August 2026 gave us the most cars by far, because it is real gameplay with real traffic. Jalopnik‘s Chris Tsui went through it the next day. Here are the main GTA 6 real cars he found:
| GTA 6 car | Looks like (real car) | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Red muscle car | Chevrolet Chevelle | Jason breaks into it, after the opening apartment mission |
| Sentinel convertible | BMW 3 Series (E30) | Seems to be Jason’s car, first driving scene |
| Lifted pickup | Ford F-150 | Driving past a jogger in Vice City |
| Schafter | Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212) | Lucia drives it in a big chase |
| Newer Schafter | Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213) | Seaside car meet |
| Police car | Dodge Charger | Chases (GTA 5’s was Taurus-based) |
| Track car | BMW M4 | Track race, against a Challenger, Charger, Mustang-style car and Infiniti G35 |
| Street racer | Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) | Night street race with neon underglow |
| Street racer | Porsche Cayman | Same night race |
| Exotics | Lamborghini Diablo, Ferrari SF90 | Same night race |
| Luxury SUV | Rolls-Royce Cullinan | You drive it in a convoy leaving an airport |
| Hypercar | Bugatti Chiron | A partygoer filming from the driver’s seat |
| Off-roader | Mercedes G-Wagen | Ocean Drive-style street fight |
| Sports car | Acura NSX | Same street fight, someone filming from it |
| Taxi | Ford Crown Victoria | Same street fight |
And the list of GTA 6 real cars keeps going beyond the big moments. In normal traffic he also counted lookalikes of the Dodge Challenger and Charger, Audi TT and A4, Ram 1500, 10th-gen Honda Accord, Chevrolet Camaro convertible, new Range Rover, Chevrolet Suburban, Toyota RAV4, BMW X5, a fast Cadillac sedan, a big Lincoln SUV and a purple C7 Corvette. (Not confirmed)
If you want to see these moments yourself, they are all in our Extended Look breakdown.
What Reddit and car databases say
GTA 6 real cars are a favourite topic on Reddit too. On Reddit I saw a big r/rockstar thread called “Brand Like Cars In Gta 6!” with more than 260 comments. One fan picked out a white G-Wagon, something next to it that could be a Grand Cherokee or BMW X5, and a Civic Type R. That lines up with what Jalopnik saw.
There is also IGCD.net, a database that tracks real cars in video games. Its GTA 6 page already lists a 2018 Honda Civic Type R, a 2003 Infiniti G35, a 2001 Hummer H1 and a 1984 Honda CR-X, among others. (Not confirmed)
Some sites go further and post top speeds, stats and spawn locations for GTA 6 cars. Rockstar has not released any of that, so I have left those numbers out. You will get real stats from me after 19 November, when we can actually drive them.

Why GTA 6 does not use real car names
Rockstar has never said why in so many words, so this part is my reading. (My reading) Using a real brand means a licence, and most carmakers do not want their cars stolen, crashed and shot at in a crime game. Made-up brands also let Rockstar joke about car culture, which is half the fun. A “Grotti” that looks like a Ferrari says everything without needing Ferrari’s permission.
My take
This is honestly my favourite part of every GTA trailer. I have played GTA since the original Vice City, and spotting which real car Rockstar copied never gets old. What stands out in GTA 6 is how close the copies are now. The Extended Look traffic looks like a normal Miami road: Accords, RAV4s, Range Rovers, a Cullinan in a convoy. That is the most “real” GTA traffic has ever looked, and it is why I think GTA 6 real cars will be one of the most talked-about parts of the game after launch.
My favourite find is the E30-style Sentinel convertible that seems to be Jason’s. It fits him perfectly: old, simple and a bit worn, like a man who just wants an easy life. Read more about him in our Jason Duval profile.
