Flash FM is back from Vice City

One name will be familiar to long-time fans. Flash FM was a pop station in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002), and it returns as GTA 6’s pop and dance station. It’s a fitting nod, since GTA 6 takes the series back to Vice City.

Back Country Radio reports from the swamps

Back Country Radio isn’t just a playlist. Its roving reporter, Mud Dog Mike, covers the Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn areas from his airboat, which suggests the radio will reflect where you are in Leonida. (Reported from Rockstar’s description)

You can listen on foot now

This is the biggest change to how GTA radio works. In earlier games you mostly heard the radio inside vehicles. In GTA 6, Jason and Lucia can keep listening on foot through headphones and earbuds linked to their phones, so the music carries on while you explore. (Confirmed)

GTA 6 adds podcasts

Rockstar says GTA 6 is the first game in the series with on-demand podcasts, made for Jason and Lucia. It hasn’t named them yet. (Confirmed) Read more about the two leads in our guides to Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.

Can you listen to the stations now?

Yes, in part. The Music section of the official GTA VI website has short previews of all six stations, each featuring a few tracks.

What we don’t know yet

  • How many stations GTA 6 will have in total
  • Whether talk radio, classic rock or other genres will follow
  • Each station’s full tracklist
  • The names and hosts of the podcasts

Our take: Listening on foot is the real upgrade here. Combined with a line-up this varied, GTA 6’s radio should feel like part of the world rather than background noise. We’ll keep this list updated as Rockstar reveals more stations before the 19 November launch.
