“Cyberleek” is an anonymous leaker who has been posting unreleased GTA 6 gameplay clips since mid-2026, including a new batch of roughly 25 minutes on 8 October. Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, has responded with copyright takedowns and court subpoenas aimed at identifying the leaker. This post is spoiler-free and doesn’t show or link to any leaked footage. (Reported)

If you’ve seen “Cyberleek” trending, here’s what’s happening, without spoiling the game you’re about to play.

What is Cyberleek?

Cyberleek is the online name of an anonymous person who has been posting short clips of GTA 6 gameplay from an unfinished version of the game. Reports say the footage appears to come from a recent development build, just months before launch. (Reported)

How Take-Two has responded

Take-Two has taken two kinds of action (Reported, from coverage of the court filings):

  1. Takedowns. It has sent copyright (DMCA) notices to remove re-uploaded clips, especially on YouTube.
  2. Subpoenas. In August 2026 it asked a US federal court in New York for subpoenas requiring Discord, Microsoft, X and Google (YouTube) to hand over account details linked to the leaks, such as IP addresses and linked accounts. A court approved the requests; reports at the time said no data had been handed over yet.

Rockstar itself hasn’t made a public statement about Cyberleek.

Is the leaked footage real?

The clips are widely reported to show a genuine in-development build. But unfinished builds often look and play differently from the final release, so nothing in them counts as confirmed until Rockstar shows it or the game is out. That’s why we never use leaks as a source on GTA 6 Waypoint.

Why we won’t show or link the leaks

  • Spoilers. The October clips reportedly include major story moments, and the real thing is only weeks away.
  • It isn’t final. Development footage can be misleading.
  • It’s copyrighted material that Take-Two is actively removing.

We’ll keep reporting on the story of the leaks, but every fact on this site comes from Rockstar or the game itself. Our Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos guides, for example, use only official information.

Will the leaks delay GTA 6?

There’s no sign of that. GTA 6 is still set for 19 November 2026, preloading still opens on 12 November, and Rockstar’s marketing has carried on, including six new radio stations revealed on 8 October. (Release date confirmed) See our release date guide for the details.

Our take: With launch this close, avoiding the leaks is easy and worth it. Mute “GTA 6 leak” and “Cyberleek” on social media for the next few weeks, and you’ll get to see the story the way Rockstar intended.
