He still moves product through his boat yard in the Leonida Keys with his third wife, Lori, and he’s been in the game long enough to let other people do his dirty work. (Confirmed by Rockstar) One of those people is Jason, who lives rent-free in one of Brian’s properties in return for help with shakedowns. (Confirmed)

Who is Brian Heder in GTA 6?
Brian Heder is one of the eight GTA 6 characters Rockstar has given an official profile, and he’s the one closest to Jason when the story starts. Rockstar calls him a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys. (Confirmed)
This is what Rockstar has actually confirmed:
- Business: moves product through his boat yard in the Keys. (Confirmed)
- Family: married to Lori, his third wife, who helps run the boat yard. (Confirmed)
- Link to Jason: lets Jason live rent-free at one of his places, as long as he helps with local shakedowns and drops by for Lori’s sangria now and then. (Confirmed)
- Link to Cal: Cal Hampton is described as “a fellow associate of Brian’s”. (Confirmed)
- Style: he’s been around long enough to let others do the dirty work. (Confirmed)
Rockstar’s page gives Brian some of the funniest lines of any character so far:
“Nothing better than a Mudslide at sunset.”
“I hauled so much grass in that plane, I could make the state of Leonida levitate.”
And my favourite line from his profile: he “looks like a Leonida beach bum, moves like a great white shark”. That one sentence tells you not to trust the relaxed look.

Brian has turned up a lot more than most of the side characters. I’ve gone through Rockstar’s screenshots, Trailer 2 and the Extended Look, and these are all his scenes so far.

Two of these say a lot. The plane shot fits his line about hauling grass “in that plane”, so flying product in could be part of his business, or at least his past. And handing Jason a gun says Brian is the one sending him out on jobs. Both are my reading, not Rockstar’s. (Not confirmed)
Who is Lori Heder?
Lori is Brian’s third wife, and Rockstar says she helps him move product through the boat yard. (Confirmed) She’s also the reason Jason has to show up for sangria once in a while. In the Extended Look she’s with Brian at the rooftop bar meeting. (Shown)
Rockstar hasn’t said whether the woman behind Brian in the pickup truck screenshot is Lori. It looks likely to me, but it isn’t confirmed. (Not confirmed)
Brian Heder vs Trevor Philips: two very different drug runners
When I first read Brian’s profile, Trevor from GTA 5 came to mind straight away. Both run drugs out of the countryside, both talk about planes, and both are dangerous. But they couldn’t be more different in how they work.

Verdict: Trevor was chaos you got to play. Brian looks like the opposite, the calm man who stays in the background while Jason takes the risks. For me that makes him more dangerous, because you never quite know what he wants.
Who voices Brian Heder?
Rockstar hasn’t officially named any GTA 6 voice actors. (Not confirmed) In September 2026, actor Stephen Root told the Associated Press that his character was in Rockstar’s first rollout of GTA 6. I saw it in Push Square’s report, which links it to Brian. (Reported) Until Rockstar or the game credits confirm it, I’m treating it as reported, not confirmed.
What we still don’t know about Brian
- Whether he gives Jason missions, and what kind. (Not confirmed)
- Who the client at the rooftop bar is, and what the job is. (Not confirmed)
- How Brian feels about Lucia joining Jason. (Not confirmed)
- Whether his “great white shark” side turns against Jason later. (Not confirmed)
My take
Brian is the character I’m most curious about after Jason and Lucia. Every Rockstar game has that older guy who looks friendly and then turns out to be the real problem, and Brian has all the signs. The Mudslide line, the sangria, the beach-bum look, and then “moves like a great white shark”. I love how much Rockstar packed into such a short profile. I also like that he gives Jason a reason to be in the Keys, because that’s where I expect the early missions to be. I’ll update this page with his full story once the game is out on 19 November.
