GTA 6 new screenshots arrived on 8 October 2026: Rockstar released three official images alongside the reveal of the game’s radio stations. They show a neon-lit Vice City street after rain, a highway jam with the skyline behind it, and a crowd in a car park at night. (Confirmed)

Where the GTA 6 new screenshots came from
Rockstar posted the images on 8 October in the same update that revealed the first GTA 6 radio stations and their hosts. You can find Rockstar’s announcements on the official Rockstar Newswire.
The screenshots arrive six weeks before launch. They’re Rockstar’s latest look at the game after the 26-minute Extended Look gameplay video in August.
Screenshot 1: Vice City streets after rain

A city street at night, wet from rain, with the neon signs of shops and buildings reflected in the puddles on the road. The lighting and the wet surfaces are what stand out. This is the kind of scene GTA 6’s trailers have leaned on, and it looks just as good in a still image.
You can also see the skyline with some activities in the background, like the London Eye wheel, also a big stadium where big concerts could happen in-game.
Screenshot 2: Highway traffic and the Vice City skyline

A highway packed with traffic, with the Vice City skyline to the right. The long view is the point here: buildings far in the distance are still sharp and detailed. If you want to know where this might be, our GTA 6 map guide explains every confirmed region of Leonida.
Also, we can see that after rain, streets get wet, and it looks real, as if real rain just fell, and this is how much enhanced graphics we can see in-game. This is big because Rockstar is trying to make this game as real as possible.
Screenshot 3: A night-time crowd in a car park

A car park at night, with a group of people hanging out around their cars. It’s another sign of how busy Rockstar wants Leonida to feel, with crowds that look like they’re doing their own thing rather than just walking past.
GTA 6 nightlife is something different we’ve never seen in game history. Lots of things are going to happen at night in the game. We also see the extended look that happens halfway through the night, so nighttime seems very important in the game.
What the GTA 6 new screenshots tell us
Three things come through across all three images:
- Lighting is the focus. Two of the three are night scenes with neon and reflections.
- The world looks crowded. Traffic and groups of people appear in every shot.
- Vice City is the star. All three are set in or around the city, not the countryside.
What we still don’t know
Rockstar hasn’t said which console these images were captured on, or whether they come from a PS5 Pro or a performance mode. (Not confirmed) We’ll update this post if it does. For what’s known about how GTA 6 runs on each console, read GTA 6 PS5 or Xbox.
My take
Every time Rockstar drops new screenshots, I zoom into every corner. These ones at night show what I love most: a city that feels alive even when nothing is happening. I’m the kind of player who sometimes ignores missions just to walk around and see what’s there. In RDR2, I spent hours just exploring, and these images make me feel Vice City will be the same. The lighting and the crowds look far beyond GTA 5.
